Ever start something and over-do it before it's even finished? No? Lucky you. Yes? Then you feel my pain. Sometimes...I get carried away. That's not necessarily a good thing - not this time around. The plan: Make some really cute tye dye and stonewash patterns. Apply them to a still-trendy halter with back lacing and high-waisted jeans. The result: I made exactly what I wanted to do, except I made them in 5 colors and that...plus the variables of putting them in combo templates left me in the nearly 200 range of templates in ONE set. Nope. In the really, real world I make $25 an hour from graphic design. Doing clothing templates for Second Life is absolutely NO different than that, in fact, it may actually be MORE work. I cannot allow myself to short-change myself when producing clothing templates or other resources. With some sets, if not agreeable to the style tastes of creators in Second Life, I would actually lose cash by just releasing the set. What I had to do: Instead of trashing it, I had to divide it. I ended up with only 2 styles in the FULL set with the 5 colors and 3 denim colors. This works, even though it's still A LOT of templates. I also ended up taking the other styles and putting them into a template only add-on set. I'm terribly late getting this set out, but I know it'll be worth it in the long run. Enjoy the sneak peak! |
